Mowani Mountain Camp & Camp Kipwe - "Place of God"

Mowani and Camp Kipwe are two jewels in the dramatic scenery of the granite rock formations of the Damaraland in Namibia. The two chic camps are nearly invisible for passers by, yet offer splendid vistas into the surrounding plains of the Aba Huab River and the volcanic mountains of the area. This region of Namibia is not only famous for its Unesco World Heritage Site Twyfelfontein with its thousands of rock gravings, but also for its Petrified Forest, the Organ Pipes as well as the Desert Elephants.

The main areas of both camps are similar in style and remind visitors of African villages which have been integrated to near invisibility into their surroundings. Here clients will be served delicious cuisine by very friendly staff, or clients can relax and unwind or book their balloon safari for the next day. Whilst Mowani is based on the concept of tented en suite accommodation, Camp Kipwe accommodates its guests in rondavels with outside bathrooms. The “Out of Africa” suites in either camp, offer the discerning traveller the additional comfort and luxury.

Both lodges are in easy reach for self drive clients as well as fly-in safaris. Ideal combinations are with Onguma close to Etosha National Park, Okahirongo in Kaokoveld or Wolwedans in NamibRand Nature Reserve.
Mowani and Camp Kipwe are members of the Classic Safari Camps of Africa.
